Hello to all of our Fair Friends in Zone 1!!
The CDC has suggested that no gatherings or events take place within the next 8 weeks with over 50 guests in attendance. Unfortunately, our Zone 1 meeting in York, PA is within that 8 week time frame. The IAFE has chosen to honor the request of the CDC, and unfortunately, we will have to cancel our Zone 1 meeting for May 7-9, 2020.
We cannot begin to express our gratitude to Bryan, Cody, Brianna, and the staff at the York State Fair for ALL of their hard work in preparing for this wonderful event. The good news is . . . they are very kindly offering to host in 2021, and we will be in touch with you all very soon regarding the exact date. Thank you, York State Fair, for being flexible and welcoming to all of us next year! It is very much appreciated!
For those of you who have already registered, we will be happy to refund your registration fee -- all you have to do is send an e-mail request to Kathy Hartley, the IAFE Registrar, at email@example.com. However, if you are planning on attending next year, and would like to keep your advance deposit registration fee in our Zone 1 account there is no need for any action -- it will automatically convert. You will not have to remember to register next year! The same applies to our sponsors and their very generous sponsorship donations. Please let me know your preference.
The Wyndham Garden York hotel is aware of our cancelation for this year. If you registered directly with the hotel, then they will cancel your room automatically and you should receive an e-mail directly from them. If you used a 3rd party booking site (i.e. Expedia, Hotels.com) you will need to return to that platform and cancel directly. If you have any questions or encounter any issues, please contact Kathy Hartley at the IAFE office and she will try to assist.
For our four Zone 1 Scholarship recipients, Bridget, Patrick, Staci, and Kourtney, we will be delighted if you could join us next year to take advantage of your Scholarship award. Please advise, when we know the exact date in 2021, if you are or are not available.
Of course, we are all disappointed, but we completely understand. It is far more important to stay safe, and stay healthy. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to call or email me. I am "in your corner" 100% and would be happy to assist in any way that I can.
Thank you to Marla and her staff at the IAFE for your guidance, and your support during this difficult time. It is like putting a giant puzzle together, one piece at a time . . . but just think how beautiful the finished product will be when it is done!!
